VCSi and Tehama County Search and Rescue sponsor a Human Remains Water Recovery K9 Training Seminar.

Vigilant Canine Services International and Tehama County Search and Rescue recently sponsored a Human Remains Water Recovery K-9 Training Seminar that took place the 18th-20th near the Bridge Bay Resort in Redding CA.

K-9 Water Training

Expert Search and Rescue K-9 Trainer Ms. Jonni Joyce was flown in to teach the seminar. Search and Rescue Divers and boats assisted in this training seminar. This training was open to all law enforcement agencies. Some of the agencies represented at the training were: The California Rescue Dog Association, Shasta County Search and Rescue, Nevada County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue, Wilderness Finders Search Dog Team, California Emergency Management Agency, Josephine County Search and Rescue just to name a few.

Students learned the methodology of canine water search training. There was extensive instruction relating to chemical scent signatures in relation to cold water, deep water, drowning. This type of training will better equip our Search and Rescue teams to find individuals in and around water.

K-9 Water Training

VCSi will be providing and sponsoring K9 training class and seminars all over the United States. We are looking forward to the opportunity to help provide law enforcement agencies with specialized and advanced K9 training.
